Sound Design

Synthesis, programming and patch design — built on stage instruments, tested in real performances.

Approach

Built to be played

I don't design sounds to demo well in isolation. I design them to sit in an arrangement, respond to how hard you hit the keys, and hold up in a loud room. A patch that sounds spectacular alone and vanishes in a full band isn't finished.

Craft

Synthesis
Oscillators, filters, envelopes and modulation — designed from the ground up, not preset tweaks.
Performance mapping
Wheels, pedals and aftertouch mapped so the sound moves while you play it.
Layering
Splits and layers built for real set changes, not for a spec sheet.
Mix awareness
Levels and voicing set so patches sit together without re-balancing mid-show.

In practice

Hear one.

A lead played on the Nord Stage 4 — the kind of sound I design for my own rig and use in performance. Programmed to respond to touch, sit inside an arrangement, and be playable rather than just impressive on its own.
